FU Poetry

Reasons

I write...
I write not because I am bored,
But because I am bored of not being heard
I write...
I write so my words sing ludicrous tunes for my silence
Silence to those things I rather not speak out loud
Silence to those things I know not how to say

I write...
I write to express
Express those lingering, hasty thoughts and feelings
That are kept enclosed in my head
Which, repeating, plays over and over
Punishing the mind
Which just wants to escape,
Escape to be free

I write...
When I write I’m in my own world
A world so real, but yet still so unreal
Unreal to what's around us
As I place pen to paper
Letters appear, letters form into words
Words form into sentences
Sentences form into a paragraph

The flow of my expressed rhythm of words
Are now formed into paragraphs of my:
Deepest thoughts
Darkest secrets
Emotions
Imagination
Which creeps itself into a poem

My poem
I write to be heard
To be seen

We marched, Still

Sullee J is back with another "Spoken Word" this month. "We Marched, Still". This piece reflects the struggles of a whole race and speaks on various scenario's they had to battle in order to get where they are today.
In Sullee J's own words "I wrote this to keep us awake, and always remember where we came from. I feel like a lot of us forget or get spoiled in the hype. At one point, we fought and died over school and earning the privilege to read a book. Today we shoot each other and die over material things like who has the newest Jordan's? God puts us through things, but he also pulls us through them. He does this so, we can humble ourselves and appreciate what we have, not forget what we were granted!"
