Stealth MC

Originally from Nigeria, Stealth MCs journey began like most, with high school talent shows, rap battles and clashes on pirate radio stations. It wasn't until he left London for University in Bristol that Stealth began to really take his music seriously and released his critically acclaimed debut single Mothership which went on to very quickly sell out, which then led to him performing at the Ashton Court Festival, which was said to have been one of Britains largest free 2 day festivals.
After supporting well known artists such as Sway and Mark Ronson Stealth is even gaining recognition in countries as far as Japan as well as getting airplay on local radio stations including BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Criminal Connections is taken from his forthcoming mixtape Stealth Artois and features Hoodini & Young Tera from Footsoldiers NTL.

What do you do?
We write, Rap, Produce, Sound Engineer and edit videos

Where did the name Footsoldiers come from, and what does NTL stand for?
I (HdoubleOD) came up with the name Footsoldiers, as a Foot Soldier represents someone who is disciplined, loyal and dedicated. Young Tera came up with NTL, which Stands for Nothing to Lose. All of us (apart from Skippie Boy Daps) have these initials tattooed on us.

Who is in the Footsoldiers?
Hoodini aka HDoubleOD, Young Tera, Skippie Boy Daps, Black Ace, Weezy and Purple Boii (Who is also on a solo venture)

What makes Footsoldiers NTL so unique?
We are actually all related. Which Is Good & Bad...

What’s the biggest/best show that you’ve done?
It’s either our interview on Choice FM or the Queens Park Festival

Do you think it’s important to be signed to a major record label or do you think you could be just as successful being signed to an independent?
I think just based on their contacts you’d probably be more successful with a Major because they’d be able to use their connections to get your music out there on a bigger scale. But I also think that if you produce good music then you should be equally successful regardless.

Mix tapes seem to be a big thing right now, why do you think they’re so important? They’re important to us because on a Mixtape you can say what you like, how you like. So they’re more for the’ hood in our eyes. But all the songs we send to DJ's have radio play in mind, so we have to avoid saying certain things or minimize the amount of times we say them.

Which is more important to you; money, fame or success?
Success is the most important thing for us i.e.; making music that the public like and buy. If the music's successful it would lead to fame which should then lead to the money. Chase the dream first & foremost, the rest is a bonus

If you weren’t MC-ing what would you be doing?
Producing, Writing or Managing / developing other upcoming artist.

If you could choose an artist/group/producer to make a song with, who would it be and what kinda song would you wanna make?
We would make a club anthem with Young Money. Or UK wise we’d work with Giggs, Young Spray, Stryder, Wiley or Skepta

What’s next for you guys?
Hopefully getting our video for Call me on the phone in rotation on MTV.It’s currently in rotation on Channel AKA & Flava TV.Also performing at least twice every month, participating in Sky Performers competition. But mainly pushing and taking advantage of any opportunities to go forward.
