Combining sounds of drum & bass and dubstep with parts of hip-hop, Sydney based Kobra Kai's live shows consist of live electronic and acoustic drums, synths, guitar, samples, vocals and MC'ing between the members, making it just not your ordinary bass rave.
5 piece bass music act Kobra Kai have consistently performed at pubs, clubs and festivals around Australia since they formed. They have even played at Home Nightclub in Sydney with international artists such as Roni Size and DJ Marky and have had slots on big name festivals including The Big Day Out, Future Music, Creamfields and Stereosonic. In addition to this they headlined a national tour last year to celebrate the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled album.
Now releasing their double sided single, 'Firestorm' is one half of Kobra Kai’s new single. The song is about a volatile relationship that hits breaking point and the chaos and confusion soon turns to a 'Firestorm'.
Whilst 'Let You Down' showcases the groups ability to switch a track and merge from dubstep to dancehall to hip-hop. The single is an effortless piece of honest music about change and lack of it as the group ask, “What do you have to do to get heard around here?”.
