A True hip hop head, South London rapper Syaman is here to bring back that 90's hip hop sound. Listening to his music reminds you of Yo! MTV Raps and the good old days where hip hop videos consisted of a huge group of black guys hanging out in the projects wearing ridiculous puffa jackets and nodding their heads to the beat and feeling the lyrics (and also running from the police lol) With artists including Dennis Brown, Pete Rock, Nas, Smokey Robinson and Michael Jackson as his musical influences Syaman is impossible to put in a box and describes his material as "Music for the soul." Rapping for 15 years and producing for 7, his journey began when he joined a group called R.D.S in 1996. He then went on to form the group A-Starz with fellow rapper Keyz, which led to them performing on Trevor Nelsons The Lick on MTV Base. In addition to working on his own material, Syaman has recently linked up with artists E&J (doesn't that name make you want some brandy & coke lol :-) and Efstar to form the group Freekings. Their forthcoming album Gold Frankincense & Mur will be produced, engineered and mixed by Syaman. With all this going on, it looks like 2011 is going to be a busy year for Syaman.
