City Showcase
If like FU you’re into your up and coming talent then be sure to keep 2nd - 6th June free because London City Showcase is back! Now in it’s 6th year this is a unique 5 day event where you can combine shopping and mingling with live music:
For 5 days last June, over a million people flocked to central London to witness 400 artists across all music genres perform at 35 different venues
With well known artists such as Sway, Razorlight, Amy Winehouse and Lady Sovereign making their début on the City Showcase stage, if you are trying to become a superstar then this is the best place to start and FU will be there to report on all the action.
Already included in this fabulous event are Raghav who will be headlining the Asian night, The Parlotones , Twin Atlantic, We Are The Ocean, The Young Republic, ex G4 member Jonathan Ansell and the list is still growing, even 80‘s Acid Ho
use group Bomb the Bass will be there doing their 1st performance in 20 years.
London’s diverse culture has obviously inspired the event which has music for everyone from the Hip Hop heads, hard core rockers and Indie Kids all the way through to Classical and Jazz fans and with venues ranging from funky boutiques in Carnaby Street to the London Astoria, this not-for-profit festival
has made a lot of London stores open their doors (and their ears) to live music.
Not just about music, City Showcase is also about their fashion and has supported the work of new designers including Oliver Goddard and Craven Gene. Basically this event is a festival version of FU Magazine, now that’s hot :-)
So… that’s, shopping, dancing, live music and fashion, plus FU will be there and they even have daily masterclasses and artistic/business workshops so there is absolutely no reason to miss this event! If you have work start creating an ‘illness’ from now so it’s more believable when you call in sick.
